therapy

I work from a relational framework, meaning that I believe the authentic connection between a client and a therapist is a profound catalyst for change.

I utilize emotionally focused/attachment frameworks to explore how our early relationships create the blueprint for our understandings of love, trust and self-worth. The goal of unpacking this history isn’t to harp on what went wrong; it's to find freedom from the stories that keep us feeling stuck and disconnected from ourselves and from others.

Some of the modalities I work with include, Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Brainspotting and EMDR.

what I can help with

  • Quieting the inner critic

  • Developing healthy boundaries

  • Increasing self-compassion and self-worth

  • Coping with overwhelming emotions

  • Exploring interracial identity

  • Processing family of origin/childhood experiences

  • Trauma Recovery (complex and single incident)

about my approach

My work is rooted in deep respect for each person’s inner wisdom and capacity for healing. I work collaboratively with each client to create a process that’s flexible, responsive, and aligned with their goals. While every person’s path is unique, my approach is shaped by a few core beliefs:

  • The understanding that we are wired for connection. Healing often happens in relationships—through safety, trust, and presence. I view the therapeutic relationship as a space where meaningful connection can foster real change.

  •  A deep awareness of power, privilege, and oppression—including how they show up in areas like race, gender, sexuality, class, neurodiversity & ablility. These forces impact not only how we move through the world, but also how we relate to ourselves and others. I bring a social justice lens to my work, always keeping in mind the larger systems that shape personal experience.

  • The value of mindful, present-moment awareness. Slowing down and tuning in can help us access greater clarity, self-compassion, and insight into our emotional, physical, and spiritual experiences.

  • The belief that therapy is a brave and collaborative process. It takes commitment, openness, and mutual trust—and I honor the courage it takes to show up and do this work.

I draw from the following evidence-based approaches that support meaningful, lasting change:

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy
IFS offers a non-judgmental, empowering framework for understanding your inner experience. It views the self as made up of many different “parts”—each with its own perspective and role. Through IFS, we’ll explore these parts and help you connect with your core Self, a compassionate inner presence that can lead healing from within.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

EMDR is a powerful, research-supported approach for working with trauma and distressing memories. It helps the brain process experiences that may feel "stuck" or overwhelming, reducing their emotional charge and allowing healing to take place. Using bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping), EMDR supports the natural integration of difficult experiences, so they no longer hold the same power over your present life.

Psychodynamic Therapy
Our early life experiences often shape how we see ourselves and relate to others—sometimes in ways we’re not fully aware of. In our work together, we’ll gently uncover unconscious patterns, making space for insight, self-understanding, and the possibility of new ways of being.

Mindfulness-Based Approaches

Mindfulness helps you develop greater awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and body sensations in the present moment. Whether through meditation, guided visualization, or breathwork, these practices can support emotional regulation, reduce stress, and help you reconnect with yourself in a deeper, more grounded way.

Attachment-Based Work
Our relationships with our early caregivers shape the way we experience connection, trust, and intimacy. By exploring your attachment patterns in a safe and supportive environment, we can work together to create new, healthier ways of relating.

Ultimately, I believe therapy is not about fixing what’s “wrong,” but about reconnecting with your own strength, clarity, and authenticity. Together, we’ll create a space where your full self is welcome—where healing can happen at your own pace, in your own way.

frequently asked questions

How often should I schedule therapy sessions?
I usually recommend weekly 50-minute sessions for both individuals and couples, especially when we’re just starting out. As we work together, some people find that moving to biweekly sessions works better for them down the line.

What are your fees?
The fee is $225 per session for individuals and $300 per session for couples. If finances are a concern, I do have a limited number of sliding scale slots available. Feel free to reach out if you’d like to discuss this.

Do you take insurance?
I don’t accept insurance directly, but I can provide you with a "Superbill" after each session. You can then submit this to your insurance for reimbursement through your out-of-network benefits.

I am contracted with Lyra Health and have occasional openings for Lyra clients.

Do you offer free consultations?
Yes, I offer a free 15-20 minute consultation. It’s a chance for us to chat about what you’re looking for in therapy, see whether we’re a good fit, and go over logistics like scheduling and fees. Just email me to schedule a time!

What’s the process to get started?
To get started, you can contact me to set up your initial consultation. If you decide to move forward, we’ll find a weekly time slot that works for both of us. I’ll also send over an intake packet for you to complete. Our first couple of sessions are about getting to know each other, understanding what brings you to therapy, and setting goals. After that, we’ll dive into the work!

Are sessions in-person or virtual?

I offer both in-person and virtual sessions, though my in-person availability is pretty full most of the time. If you're interested in meeting in person, let me know and we'll do our best to figure out what works!
